A native of Iceland, Thora has been immersed in the culture of Icelandic horses her whole life. She started training and competing early. She learned much from the older generation's traditions, and she read every book she could find about horses. Her thirst for knowledge drove her to more education: classical riding under Jennifer Roth, dressage judge and trainer in California. |
| After 6 years here, Thora came to realize that she was not going back to Iceland to live. She brought 4-year-old green stallion Otto over from her breeding stock in Iceland. Her original intention was to train Otto on the side, with her full attention on her own dressage training. Instead, she successfully trained Otto using her dressage knowledge mixed with Icelandic tradition. | |
| Thora has since become more and more focused on Icelandic horses. She trains both horses and riders regularly, using a mixture of classical and Icelandic techniques. Thora has helped many people to become owners of Icelandic horses. She is never too busy to assist new people coming to know Icelandic horses. |
